Commission a Custom Art Piece

Pet/ Animal Portrait Commissions

Celebrate your pets wonderful life with a one-of-a-kind art piece that captures their unique personality and appearance, whether your pet or animal friend has fur, fluff, feathers, spines, or scales I can replicate their image with thread. I offer two types of pet/animal portraits, full thread painted portraits and outline portraits.

Every portrait includes:

  • The pets name (if desired)

  • One pet within the portrait (if more than one pet is desired, please inquire with me via email at gotmeinstitchesxoart@gmail.com and we can discuss pricing and options)

  • The completed art piece will automatically come in an embroidery hoop unless otherwise discussed

  • Additional options can be added and those can be found on the Pricing Page.

  • Shipping is included in the commission piece; however I am not responsible for any customs or import fees when shipping internationally.

What I will need from you:

  • I will need good, quality photos of your pet or the animal friend in question, these photos will need to be clear and in good lighting. If you can see the textures and the fur direction then the photos will more than likely work, but please appreciate that I can only stitch what I can see, so if the photo is in unnatural lighting, high contrast, or dim lighting it may affect the true color of the animals coloring, so natural indirect lighting is the best choice. I will need at least one photo but the more the merrier so I can really understand the overall coloring and personality of your pet or animal friend.

  • I will also please ask for your patience, communication, and your timeline. These realistic pet/animal portraits can take anywhere from 80 to 100+ hours of work, because of this, my turn around time on a portrait is an 8 week minimum once I’ve accepted your commission request and the payment has been received, I will work as quickly as I can on the piece without sacrificing quality, if you have a timeline, please communicate with me and I will do my absolute best to make it happen.

The Commission Process:

  • To request a commission piece, please submit an inquiry by following the button link below.

  • Once I have received your inquiry, I will review and respond to let you know I have received it and let you know if I can work on your piece right away or if you will be placed in line on my waiting list.

  • Once I am available to work on your commission request, I will send you an email and let you know that you are next in line, at that time I will confirm your request details and ask for your non-refundable initial deposit of 50% of the total commission amount (this will be in the form of a custom listing in the shop section of my website), once I have received your initial deposit I will work on your mockup design.

    * Please Note* If I don’t hear back from you within 5 days of my email, I will need to move onto the next inquiry on my waiting list and your inquiry will go back onto my waiting list but at the back of the line so it’s fair to the other people who have been waiting.

  • I will send your mockup design idea back to you via email to approve, if approved I will ask for the remaining 50% of the total amount due, this will pay your commission inquiry in full and I will begin working on your custom art.

  • As mentioned above once I begin your piece, it will take a minimum of 8 weeks to complete it, unless we discussed a different timeline directly, throughout this time of me working on your project, I will be sharing progress updates via social media unless it is a surprise gift in which case I won’t share anything until your commission has been completed and has been delivered to you.

  • Once I have completed your commission piece, I will be shipping it with signature required delivery.

Perhaps it could be a favorite national park you visited when growing up or that feeling you would get when you were walking through the forest and saw a newt in the rocks in the trickling stream. Whatever inspires you in nature, let’s take your inspiration and create a custom piece of art to memorialize it in your home together! This could be anything from a snapshot of a wonderful mountain view, the burst of wildflowers coming to life in the spring, the textures and oddities of a tidepool you found when you were exploring as a kid, or even the moss and mushrooms on the forest floor.

What I will need from you:

  • If the piece is inspired by a photo, I will need to have a copy of that photo to use as a reference.

  • I will need to know what the subject matter of the piece is, as an example, if you are wanting mushrooms on the forest floor, it would be great if you can send me some images of mushrooms that inspire you, if you didn’t take the photos I can’t use them as our reference photos without the owner’s permission but I can use them to create my own design based off of their aesthetic for your commission piece.

Landscape or Nature Inspired Embroidery

Did you grow up catching ALL the Pokémon? Could you watch your favorite cartoons and characters on TV for hours upon hours and never get sick of it? Do you have hundreds of hours invested into making your perfect town with your dream villagers in Animal Crossing? Could you play Stardew Valley year after year after year, even though you got a perfection statue on year one?! When you can’t have your eyes glued to your TV or console screen because you have to get some adulting in wouldn’t it be nice to have a physical piece of art that could still make you feel like you are in the game? Or that you are still enthralled in that episode or movie you were watching? I can take your favorite moments or characters from these games or shows and turn them into a nostalgic cozy embroidery piece for your home.
